We are pleased to share with you our trip to northwestern Spain in June of 2009!

Spain in June 2009
Join Patrick and Lynn from Tandem Cycle Works as we head to the provinces of Asturias and Cantabria for a two-week tandem tour in 2009. We are looking for 12 tandem teams who would like to share the riding, the culture and the history of Spain with us.

Our Experience
Patrick and Lynn have extensive experience with tandem touring, both in designing and leading group tours and, of course, riding tandem. We have led bike tours in Italy, Ireland, France, Vermont, Colorado, and Pennsylvania, to name a few. We anticipate that most who join us will already be our customers and friends as you know us best, have ridden with us, and recognize that we will take the best possible care of you and your tandem (not to mention all the FUN we will have together). This does not mean that if you do not know us you cannot come with us! We always welcome new tandem friends. Finally, who better to have on a tandem tour than the MOST experienced tandem mechanic on the planet?!

Our Bike Touring Philosophy
First and formeost, this is your vacation. We want you to have the very BEST time ever! We have learned many things about touring by bike over the years, both from our own personal experiences and from those of our customers.

Average Mileage:
Approximately 50 miles per day

Some touring companies want to herd you like sheep. They try very hard to keep the group together for rest stops, for lunch and while on the road during the day. This means that faster riders must slow down and wait for the group to regather. This also means that slower riders are continually under pressure to catch up. Some vacation! This is NOT our philosophy! We believe that you should ride at your own pace, stop when you wish and explore as you desire. Patrick and Lynn are on the road with you and while we will know where you are, you are free to ride at your own pace.

For this special trip we have decided to once again partner with Tony Boyd of Iron Donkey Bicycle Touring.  Having previous experience with this touring company, we can assure you that you will be well cared for with Iron Donkey.
